Today, we’re pleased to introduce two of our newest team members and highlight four familiar faces who continue to make a strong impact. 

Meet Our Newest Team Members

Josée Gatien (Sudbury) | Managing Partner

Josée joins our Sudbury office with a strong background in commercial insurance, having worked her way up in the industry from a TSR role to a broker. Born and raised in the North, she understands the unique needs of our communities and is passionate about building meaningful connections with clients. Fully bilingual, Josée brings valuable experience and a client-first approach that will strengthen our team and the businesses we support in the Sudbury area and beyond.

Amy Knox (Thunder Bay) | Risk Advisor

Amy is a dedicated Commercial Insurance Risk Advisor specializing in forestry, natural resources, and construction. Based in Thunder Bay, Amy was born and raised in Northern Ontario, bringing a deep understanding of the region’s business landscape. Fluent in both English and French, she takes pride in doing what’s best for customers and tailoring coverage to meet their specific needs. Amy’s knowledge and experience make her an incredible asset to clients working in some of Northern Ontario’s most vital industries.

Alongside our new additions, we’d like to recognize four of our talented Risk Management Team members who continue to bring expertise and support to our clients: 

Steven Mitchell (SSM) | Managing Partner – Construction Practice

Steven is a dedicated Commercial Account Executive specializing in Construction, General Contracting, Marine Services, and Contract Surety. With a background as a Project Superintendent managing multimillion-dollar projects across Canada, he brings a unique understanding of the construction industry to his clients. Steven’s in-depth knowledge of insurance, construction documents, and regulatory requirements has made him a trusted partner for some of Northern Ontario’s largest contractors over the past eight years. 

Specialty: Heavy Civil and Infrastructure Construction/Contracting, Steel Fabrication and Manufacturing, Heavy Equipment and Forestry, Bonding/Contract Surety. 

Iain Hutchison (SSM) | Managing Partner

Iain is a Managing Partner specializing in Forestry, Mining, Construction, and Transportation insurance. With experience at both Northern Insurance and a large global broker, he offers clients a unique perspective—turning insurance from a liability into an asset. Iain has worked with contractors of all sizes on both domestic and international projects, bringing a wealth of expertise to every client relationship. Known for his honest and straightforward approach, he helps businesses understand their risk tolerance and tailors coverage solutions to meet their specific needs. Iain holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph, along with his CAIB and CIP designations. 

Specialty: Transportation, Forestry, Mining, Construction. 

Eric Caven (Sudbury) | Risk Advisor

Eric is a dedicated Risk Advisor specializing in Commercial Insurance. With several years of experience in sales and a background in residential construction, he brings a strong understanding of business needs and practical strategies to help clients find the right coverage. Eric is committed to putting clients first, continuously expanding his knowledge to provide tailored solutions that protect businesses across Northern Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Laurentian University and became a Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario in 2022. 

Specialty: Manufacturing, Mining, Residential and Commercial Construction, Transportation and Logistics. 

Danielle Roy (SSM) | Risk Advisor

Danielle is a Risk Advisor with over ten years of experience in the insurance industry. Known for her dedication to client satisfaction, she works closely with businesses to understand their unique needs and deliver tailored solutions. Fully bilingual, Danielle can support a diverse range of clients and make the insurance process seamless and accessible. Her deep industry knowledge and commitment to client success make her a trusted advisor to businesses of all sizes across Northern Ontario. 

Specialty: Hospitality, Not-for-Profit, Construction, Farming.
