Important Update: Canada Post Strike – Mail Delivery Disruption

As you may be aware, Canada Post announced a nationwide postal strike beginning Friday, November 15th. This email will provide a quick update about our approach and delivery options during the strike.

Our staffing and service levels have not changed as a result of the strike, and we remain here for you with any questions or changes that you may have regarding your policies.

Here’s what you need to know to make sure you stay informed and don’t miss out on any important documentation related to your policies during the strike:

  1. Standard Mail: Standard mail (such as renewals, invoices, etc.) will not be delivered until further notice, and is being held at our Sault Ste Marie office. This includes all mail typically sent through Canada Post since Friday, November 15th.
  2. Urgent Documents: NIB and many of our Insurers are prioritizing urgent correspondence via courier services that are not impacted by the strike. These documents include notices of cancellation, claims cheques, and other time-sensitive information.
  3. Payment Information: Payments to NIB and to your insurer will still be due during the strike. If you have made a recent change to your policy, or your policy has recently been renewed, please be aware that your payment amount may change. Please call our office to confirm your payment amounts if you are unsure.
All clients are welcome to pay electronically using e-transfer, call our office to have payment processed over the phone, or attend one of our offices to make a payment in person.
  4. Digital Document Delivery: If you are awaiting a document from NIB or your insurer (such as renewal documents, pink slips, or invoices), we can usually send a digital copy to your email. Please reply to this email or call our office to request a digital copy of any outstanding documents, or to check on the status of any pending mail.
  5. Future Updates: In the event of a prolonged strike, we are committed to finding alternative solutions to meet your needs, and will be in touch over email with any updates.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. Please feel free to contact us at 1-888-525-4662 or contact@northernins.ca for assistance or with any questions you may have.

Thank you for your continued trust in us.

Best regards,
